Dragon Ball Super is involved in a fight between different universes for the survivance of one of them. Of course, Goku and cia are the favourites to win because of they are starring the show but how are we getting there?
Akira has done an excellent job with this series he was able to change the idea that Goku was the strongest man in this universe. With the new film Dragon Ball: The Battle of Gods he introduced the Destruction God Beerus and his assitant Whis to us and show in 80 minutes a new transformation may be stronger than the super saiyan 4 the Super Saiyan God and there are a plenty more stronger guys than Goku or Vegeta in the other 12 universe and more in the second film the Resurrection of F, Freezer trained for the first time in his life and turn into Golden Freezer.
So, after this two films they recount these stories in the series largen them and them they created new sagas with the contest between the Universe 6 and 7 where we discovered that the saiyans were alive in his planet and they don't have the hungry to conquer as in the Universe 7. Of course, Cabba, the saiyan, is able to transform in the supersaiyan due to Vegeta who help him. Other characters we had is a Magetta a robot very sensitive and version of Freezer called Frost, at first a heroe nevertheless we discovered that was all trick to hid his villainy and the most important character that shows again that they are stronger character than Goku, Vegeta, Son Gohan his name is Hit the assasin.
At the end of the tournement, we bump into a new powefull character Zenosama who is the King of universes and show interested in tournament between all universes.
After this, we have again a new threat Black Goku a fusion between Goku and Zamasu a Kaioshin from another universe.
And with this we get to the universal tournament where Goku, Vegeta, new reenergize Son Gohan, Piccollo, Krilin, Nº17 and 18, Tien Shian, Master Roshi and an unexpected ally Freezer who show again how profitable for the show is to know good manage in the story a grey character or villian as Freezer.
In this contest, we meet people as Jiren the most powerfull character from the Universe 11 in the tournament, the role of girl is growing up with a twist of Sailor Moon in Dragon Ball, two new saiyans that they show how quick can get new transformations getting in and controlling all of them, until level two. They are only four universe that they don't participate in this contest to show us more important characters in the future.
The entire series has left us moments as Vegeta and Goku working together and broking the rule that says Goku is stronger than Vegeta, the moment of their first transformations in Super Saiyan Blue, the fight between Goku and Golden Freezer when he recruit Freezer to the team and how he tryed to betray them with another universe. The Battle between Jiren and the new transformation of Goku and plenty more fights that we are waiting before the series finishs.
The idea is to continue with a new series the next year: 2018 or with a new film. They know they have a strong franchise and if they work hard and well can live over the years. Akira reached his goal to prove that there are more stronger characters in Dragon Ball and may be without any intention created potential new series with these characters from the other universes.
